London Forum Advances Global Islamic Finance Dialogue

2nd London Forum on Islamic Banking and Finance brings global experts together to shape the future of ethical and Shariah-compliant finance

(August 24, 2026 - Dubai, UAE): AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (AlHuda CIBE) successfully hosted the 2nd London Forum on Islamic Banking and Finance in London. The high-level forum focused on the future of Islamic and ethical finance in one of the world’s leading financial hubs. Held at the Islamic Cultural Centre in London, the forum brought together senior industry executives, Shariah scholars, regulators, policymakers, investors, academics, and Islamic FinTech professionals. The event provided a platform for strategic dialogue, knowledge sharing, networking, and cross-border collaboration.

The forum addressed key developments in the UK and European Islamic finance markets. Discussions covered the evolving landscape of Islamic banking, regulatory developments, FinTech, open banking, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Participants also explored the growing role of Sukuk and Shariah-compliant capital markets. ESG and sustainable Islamic finance were also important areas of discussion.

Another major focus was Takaful, microfinance, and financial inclusion. The forum brought together experts to discuss the evolving landscape of Islamic banking and finance in the UK and Europe. Discussions covered market growth, regulatory developments, the integration of Islamic finance into conventional banking infrastructure, and the impact of Open Banking, Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation. Speakers also explored Sukuk structures, Shariah-compliant investment products, institutional investment, ESG and sustainable Islamic finance. The discussions further highlighted the growth of Takaful, micro-Takaful and Islamic microfinance, with a focus on financial inclusion, economic empowerment and regulatory development in Western markets.

Speakers discussed the expansion of Takaful in Western markets. They also examined innovative micro-Takaful models and the role of Islamic microfinance in economic empowerment and sustainable development.

The forum reflects AlHuda CIBE’s long-standing commitment to the global development of Islamic banking and finance. Since 2005, the organization has worked in advisory and consultancy, research, education, Shariah advisory, publications, and international events. Its global network extends across more than 104 countries.

Mr. Muhammad Zubair Mughal, Chief Executive Officer of AlHuda CIBE, said, “London is an important global centre for Islamic finance. This forum provides a valuable platform to connect industry leaders, regulators, scholars, and investors. Our aim is to promote practical solutions, encourage innovation, and strengthen the global ecosystem of ethical and Shariah-compliant finance. We believe stronger international cooperation can help Islamic finance achieve greater impact and wider inclusion.”

A major highlight of the event was the Global Ethical Islamic Finance Excellence Awards 2026. Organized by AlHuda CIBE, the awards recognize excellence, innovation, leadership, and best practices across the global Islamic finance industry. The awards cover Islamic banking, Takaful, capital markets, Islamic FinTech, digital banking, Shariah advisory, education, and financial technology. The inaugural awards ceremony was held alongside the 2nd London Forum on Islamic Banking and Finance in London.

The awards aim to recognize institutions and individuals making meaningful contributions to Islamic finance. They also promote innovation, digital transformation, sustainable growth, strong Shariah governance, financial inclusion, and ethical financial services.

The 2nd London Forum further strengthened London’s position as a key international platform for Islamic and ethical finance. It also created new opportunities for professional networking, institutional partnerships, investment, and knowledge exchange across global Islamic finance markets.
